Job Description
What will you do?
  • Facility and Grounds Maintenance
    • Ensure the marina, dryland storage, and surrounding common areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained. Perform routine inspections, carry out minor repairs, and coordinate with contractors for larger maintenance tasks in alignment with the approved maintenance plan and budget.
  • Compliance and Safety Oversight
    • Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations. Address hazards promptly, manage spill response, and ensure the facility is secured through daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintenance Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement an annual maintenance schedule and budget to uphold property appearance and safety standards;
    • Present the maintenance plan and budget to property leadership for approval and review.
  • Utility and Seasonal Maintenance
    • Monitor and maintain water and electrical hookups, reporting significant issues to appropriate personnel;
    • Clear snow and ice from pathways and common areas to ensure safety and accessibility during winter months.
  • Contractor Coordination
    • Coordinate and supervise external contractors for major maintenance or improvement projects, ensuring work is completed to standard and within budget.
  • Environmental and Safety Compliance
    • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with environmental and safety regulations;
    • Respond promptly to spills, hazards, or safety concerns to minimize risk and maintain compliance.
  • Offsite Facility Support
    • Provide maintenance support at an offsite manufacturing facility located 1.5 km away;
    • Allocate approximately 10–30% of weekly work hours to this facility, depending on operational needs.
    • Maintenance and repairs of manufacturing equipment and current manufacturing facility
Qualifications
What do you need to succeed?
  • Experience & Leadership
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in property maintenance, including performing general repairs and some construction project management;
    • At least 1 year of supervisory experience, including managing contractors and working within maintenance or improvement budgets;
    • Prior marina experience is an asset.
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall repair, and general safety procedures;
    • Experience operating a variety of tools and equipment; small construction equipment experience is a plus;
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Certifications & Education
    • WHMIS Certification preferred
    • Forklift Operation Certificate Preferred;
    • Valid Level 1 First Aid preferred.
    • Valid BC Driver’s License.

    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; respectful, patient, and professional;

  • Physical Requirements
    • Ability to lift- up to 75 pounds;
    • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time;
    • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
