Overview

3M is seeking a Supervisor for its Site Maintenance team, located in Brockville, ON.

Security clearance requirement: Successful security clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Registration program is a mandatory pre-requirement for this position at this location. The listed requirements for Controlled Goods Clearance include: Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status, valid identification, ability to provide residential address and employment history for the past 5 years, and if applicable, an international criminal name check.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of plant equipment and facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, working closely with the engineering team to implement solutions.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and inventory management.
  • Evaluate and recommend new maintenance tools, equipment, and technologies to enhance operational safety and efficiency.
Your skills and expertise

Minimum qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • One (1) year of team lead and/or supervisory experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
Additional qualifications
  • Five (5) years or more of maintenance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university
  • Five (5) years combined engineering process, technology or manufacturing experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed
