Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Stock Room Clerk to manage daily parts and supplies for the Maintenance team in Canada.

You will ensure accurate receiving, storage, and issuing of maintenance materials, while maintaining controlled inventory levels and efficient warehouse operations. The role requires attention to detail, 2 years in a stockroom setting, and familiarity with SAP asset management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years’ experience working in a stock room environment (maintenance preferred).
• Inventory management/stockroom related education courses.
• Technical background would be an asset.
• Knowledge of stockroom applications and maintenance parts.
• Capable of working independently, prioritizing, and multi-tasking.
• Self-motivated in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of SAP asset management systems preferred.
• Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Daily review of parts and supplies issued from stock inventory and ensure accurate records.
• Process transactions for automatic replenishment and PO generation.
• Receive and place maintenance parts and materials, assign costs to work orders.
• Set Min/Max levels based on usage and service levels.
• Investigate shipping variances and invoice discrepancies with suppliers.
• Perform daily cycle counts and monitor variances.
• Prepare packages and documentation for shipment; arrange pickups.
• Organize stockroom and re-slot new parts as needed.
• Communicate parts updates at Maintenance Team meetings.
• Identify obsolete parts and prepare disposal documentation.

Job description

The Opportunity:

This key position within the Maintenance Department is responsible for the day-to-day operations within the Maintenance Stock room. The incumbent will report to the Maintenance Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that parts and supplies are ordered, received, and issued for Maintenance personnel. They maintain the inventory management and warehousing long-term strategies based on the consequences of equipment failure and the business’ needs/acceptable risks (i.e., unscheduled downtime versus inventory levels).

Reason for vacancy: Existing Headcount

Base Salary: $47,000 - $69,000 CAD base pay annually. The above base salary reflects the target compensation for the position at the time of posting. The base salary offered may vary based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, training, job-related knowledge, and other organizational requirements. For part-time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

• Daily review of parts and supplies issued from stock inventory
• Transactions for automatic replenishment
• Receiving and proper placement in location of all maintenance related parts inventory, work order related materials, contractor service reports and accounting for correct values
• Set Min/Max levels based on usage rate, usage patterns, delivery times, targeted service levels, equipment criticality and required safety stock levels
• Investigate and follow-up on shipping variances and invoice discrepancies with suppliers
• Daily cycle counts of stockroom inventory and monitoring variances reports as per C3
• Prepare packages for shipment, prepare required documentation and schedule pick-ups
• Organization of stock room inventory and re-organization of new parts as required
• Picking and staging of materials for work orders and assigning costs
• Technical structure in relation to parts (Bill of Materials) building with maintenance team.
• Follow Maple Leaf C3 policies and procedures related to receiving and inventory
• General housekeeping of stockroom
• Attend Maintenance Team meetings and communicate updates for parts to team
• Prepare Obsolete parts identification and documents for disposal
• PO generation for goods and services and communicate to suppliers and vendors
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (ex. General Education Development accreditation)
• 2 years’ experience working in a stock room environment (maintenance preferred)
