Role Overview

Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and systems according to established procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain water chillers, air compressors, boiler, and other utility systems.
  • Ensure reliability of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance on machinery and systems.
  • Conduct mechanical, PLC, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Use hand tools and measuring instruments to determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hand and power tools.
  • Adhere to all plant safety policies.
  • Participate in plant-wide safety, housekeeping, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Holds a valid Power Engineer Class 4 certificate.
  • An electrical license is a strong contributing factor.
  • 3-5 years of practical hands-on experience.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Ability to operate machines, hand tools and electrical equipment.
  • Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and work orders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with practical multidisciplinary systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.
  • Welding, machining and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Physical requirements: capable of working around fixed equipment and machinery; working from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding; handling heavy equipment and supplies; operating multiple controls; able to work in hazardous or irritating environments and in confined spaces with appropriate PPE.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $23.17 – $39.52 per hour. Offers may vary based on market data, knowledge, skills, experience, and location. The position may be eligible for a short-term incentive. Greif offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, paid time off, and other competitive benefits available on day one.
