Job summary

Saputo, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Planner for our Saskatoon operation. The role focuses on building executable work plans, securing materials, tools, and permits, and ensuring accurate CMMS data while prioritizing safety and food safety in every plan.

You will develop work packages, coordinate with purchasing, and lead cross-functional planning meetings to optimize asset reliability and minimize downtime in a leading Canadian dairy facility.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrical or Millwright Trade qualification or a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • 3+ years of related food industry experience within maintenance role.
  • Lean Six Sigma training is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and estimate work orders, including procedures, materials, labor, time estimates, and safety/environmental requirements.
  • Develop and update job plans and equipment data with CMMS accuracy; ensure safety and food safety integration.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to order materials and liaise with other departments for equipment availability.
  • Lead weekly planning meetings and ensure contractor compliance; manage backlog for maintenance scheduler.

Overview of the Role The role of the Maintenance Planner is critical to the ongoing success of the Maintenance and Reliability effort. The Planner is responsible for identifying the elements of an executable work plan that should contain (but not limited to), the work plan, the necessary materials, tools, and permits, and labor requirements prior to passing the work on to scheduling. The Planner will also update and adjust existing job plans and equipment data. They are expected to incorporate safety and food safety into all work plans and help ensure that work is performed safely, efficiently, and help ensure that the work management process is managed efficiently. The Planner is also expected to ensure that the work management portions of the CMMS are updated and accurate. Salary: * 88,140.00 - 110,175.00

How you will make contributions that matter: Drive asset reliability strategy that enhances equipment availability and minimizes equipment downtime Review, organize, and prioritize work based on asset failure modes for planning. Determine work priorities using a Risk Assessment Matrix or equivalent decision-making tool. Develop work packages to provide all required information/criteria to drive precision maintenance. Facilitate root cause analysis sessions for repeat failures of critical equipment. Determine if Engineering Change is required and initiate Management of Change (MOC) Process for process or equipment upgrade. Determine if job plans are available. Plan and estimate work orders including (but not limited to): Procedures & Instructions, Crafts and Labor ID, Time Estimate & Milestones, Drawings & Manuals, Material Estimation, Special Tools & Services, Safety & Environmental, Validation & Completion Requirements, Permits. Coordinate with Purchasing to order and reserve materials. Liaise with other departments to ensure equipment availability for planned work. Determine if the job is ready to schedule. Change work order status appropriately based on the work management process. Conduct PM integrity and optimization to align with equipment strategies. Maintain equipment Bill of Material. Monitor workflow compliance and related KPIs. Manage a ready backlog for maintenance scheduler. Develop and lead cross functional weekly planning meetings. Managed planned work for all third parties’ activities. Ensure contractor compliance through ISN. Understanding and adhering to all safety & food safety rules and regulations Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications: Journeyman Electrical or Millwright Trade qualification or a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. 3+ years of related food industry experience within maintenance role Lean Six Sigma training is considered an asset. Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification is an asset Experience with safe work practices, such as Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), confined spaces, job task permitting, etc. Skilled in Microsoft Office programs. Knowledgeable Autodesk software. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as FIIX, MP2 and/or SAP
