Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the manufacturing facilities and the office buildings. The ideal candidate will actively participate in the development and implementation of business, maintenance, and manufacturing plans, with a primary focus on predictive and preventive maintenance of equipment and facilities. This includes monitoring and controlling the maintenance budget and developing a team of maintenance employees.

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success: The Maintenance Manager...

  • Ensures Predictive/Preventative Maintenance is scheduled and completed to avoid disruptions and promotes continuity of Business Unit strategies and programs.
  • Manages and mentors a team of millwrights and electricians.
  • Balances safety, quality, and productivity to achieve positive results in all areas through continuous risk reduction.
  • Champions and coordinates the implementation of a computerized maintenance management system to help streamline operations, enhance team efficiency, and improve overall effectiveness of the department.
  • Plans, directs and coordinates manufacturing activities including the design, construction, modification, performance and maintenance of equipment and machinery.
  • Manages capital projects and activities.
  • Manages contractors and vendors.
  • Provides support to operations to increase machine uptime and productivity throughout the plant.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assigns daily work assignments to maintenance team members.
  • Conducts performance reviews on all maintenance team members.
  • Promotes and participate in the plant’s safety programs and policies to reduce employee accidents and injuries by embracing safety training and always enforcing safety practices.
  • Manages department performance and report results as and when required.
  • Manages daily goal setting to achieve maximum machine uptime and productivity.
  • Audits safety, quality and environmental housekeeping procedures
  • Ensures the continuous education of the maintenance team to ensure proper skill level of the department
Qualifications

When your expertise drives us: The ideal candidate possesses...

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing a medium sized maintenance team;
  • A bachelor’s degree, in engineering, OR a certified trade with a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent;
  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance and outage scheduling best practices;
  • A self-starter attitude with an ability to innovate and delegate effectively;
  • A high energy level is able to work effectively with other departments;
  • Demonstrated professional, respectful and positive attitude;
  • The capability to manage conflict toward a constructive outcome;
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and motivate people through objective setting;
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and performance management methodologies;
  • A high capacity to learn new skills and manage change;
  • An ability to multitask and manage multiple projects efficiently;
  • The ability to support the team after hours, call-in and weekends.
