Agropur is looking for a Maintenance Director to join its team in Beauceville. Reporting to the Plant Director, the Maintenance Director is responsible for managing the maintenance and thermal plant teams to support operations and structure our overall approach to achieving equipment performance. This role involves defining and deploying operational excellence approaches, methodologies, and tools to create added value with the teams. The director oversees the preparation, design, and execution of projects; contributes to and implements the plant’s reliability, innovation, and productivity strategies; manages plant investments; and establishes internal customer-supplier standards. They support operations managers and the maintenance team on the ground in implementing performance projects (visual boards, DMS, continuous improvement, KPIs, RCA); and share best practices and continuous improvement strategies to capitalize on employee know-how.
The Maintenance Director in Beauceville will be responsible for:
Planning, organizing, directing, and controlling capital and regular maintenance budgets with the maintenance team and operations managers;
Developing, managing, and/or coordinating improvement, corrective, and/or equipment replacement projects;
Ensuring the maintenance team is effective and aligned with our continuous improvement process (morning planning routines, process control, performance indicators, GUIDE TI tracking);
Optimizing labor utilization;
Promoting autonomy and organizational efficiency in maintenance and engineering;
Engaging and supervising external contractors for specific work;
Managing the internal customer-supplier process and optimizing budget allocations;
Ensuring the implementation of the plant management committee’s values;
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations during standard implementation and maintenance projects;
Initiating, developing, supervising, and improving plant automation to maximize operational efficiency related to key performance indicators;
Initiating, developing, supervising, and improving the plant’s engineering and maintenance performance program and monitoring KPIs (expenses, labor, preventive and corrective work orders, workplace inspections, energy consumption, etc.);
Managing performance indicators (labor cost, efficiency, availability, schedule adherence) and implementing corrective actions to meet expected objectives;
Actively participating in the development and execution of the plant’s strategic plan.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Automation/Control) or other relevant training;
Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in a maintenance management role in the food or pharmaceutical industry;
Knowledge of GMP and strong familiarity with CMMS software;
Technical experience in automation, networks, electricity, instrumentation, and control.
