Job description
Overview

At Cascadia Metals, our success is built on the same commitment and drive that founded our company. We continue to grow through strategic investments in our people, equipment, and facilities. As we expand our Hamilton, ON operations, we are looking for a Maintenance Lead to help shape and manage our Maintenance Department and ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operations of our metal processing equipment and facility infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Lead daily maintenance operations, ensuring equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Plan, prioritize, and execute preventative maintenance programs for hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair production machinery, including CTL lines, slitting, and shearing equipment.
  • Support installation, upgrades, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to minimize downtime and identify process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and assist in developing a spare parts inventory system.
  • Ensure safety procedures and company policies are followed.
  • Assist in developing maintenance budgets and long-term equipment strategies.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when required.
Requirements
  • Red Seal Millwright certification or equivalent trades qualification.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or metal processing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems; experience with electrical troubleshooting and PLCs is an asset.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Experience implementing or improving preventative maintenance programs.
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Must prioritize workplace safety and demonstrate strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
