Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager – Engineering, CAPEX & NPI, the Maintenance & Facilities Planner / Scheduler is the hub from which all planned maintenance activity is coordinated for multiple production sites in Southwestern Ontario. The role can be based out of London, ON or Fenwick, ON. The Maintenance & Facilities Planner / Scheduler is responsible for scheduling preventive and regular maintenance with minimal interruption to production operations and is the principal contact and liaison between Maintenance and Production and other supporting departments in relation to determining the timing for execution of planned maintenance work.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan schedule and coordinate PM activities to production requirements across multiple manufacturing facilities.
- Provide maintenance support for production and engineering activities to ensure optimum results.
- Investigate maintenance‑related problems, analyze root causes and drive resolutions.
- Assure compliance of proper safety, quality and environmental requirements in work.
- Manage all aspects of the sites and corporate CMMS.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; advanced degree or certification in technical/maintenance discipline preferred.
- At least five years of senior industrial experience in facilities, maintenance, operations.
- At least three years maintenance and supervisory experience.
- Must have minimum of three years maintenance planner/scheduler experience.
- Working knowledge of chemical, pharmaceutical or food plant equipment.
- Background in maintenance and repair of equipment in order to effectively plan daily maintenance department activities.
- Experience working and managing across multiple sites strongly preferred; PHA and MOC experience strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of chemical, pharmaceutical or food manufacturing systems and processes.
- Must have strong and experienced project management skills; experience supporting multiple sites preferred.
- Minimum three years MRO Inventory Management Experience.
- A track record demonstrating strong fiscal accountability, strategic planning and budget experience.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong troubleshooting/diagnostic skills.
- Experience working in batch and continuous operations.
- Knowledge of Federal/State EPA and OSHA compliance standards.
- Six Sigma knowledge and training a plus.
- Must have experience using CMMS.
- Experience using ERP preferred.
- Must have prior experience in stores MRO management; Inventory Control.

- Analyze and troubleshoot operational and equipment problems and provide reasonable and accurate recommendations and solutions.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing and present complex situations concisely.
- Interact effectively with technical and professional contacts, and hourly workforce.
- Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal relationship skills; strong project management skills.
- Computer skills: CMMS, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Build partnerships across and between functional groups and lead a project.
- Proven experience and effectiveness successfully managing hourly workforce required.
- Proven experience utilizing work management process to plan and schedule maintenance work.
- Ability to obtain A/RPIC status as per Health Canada Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Wear personal protective equipment.
- Respond to visual and audible alarms and paging.
- Periodic on‑call weekends and holidays; available on site during plant shutdowns/commissioning, decommissioning activities.
- Work around and atop industrial equipment; frequent ascending/descending of stairs and ladders; bending, kneeling, crouch or squat, twist, stooping and remain in stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Ascend to and position self to work at high elevations when necessary and required.
- Frequently move objects weighing up to 10 lbs routinely and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
