Role Overview

Minimum Qualifications

Must currently be enrolled in a recognized and accredited Canadian post‑secondary institution throughout the duration of the co‑op term. You must be returning to a post‑secondary institution after the co‑op term is completed. If you are not currently located in the area of this co‑op position, you must be willing to either commute or relocate to the surrounding area for the entire duration of the co‑op term. All students will be required to complete pre‑employment drug testing prior to commencing work. Proof of a valid work permit will be required, if applicable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Project Management: opportunity to assist in coordination of maintenance projects in a processing plant; responsible for organizing, scheduling and monitoring the status of maintenance projects
  • Monitor project budgets and identify inefficiencies and offer cost effective solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering team to produce detailed designs for mechanical projects on site such as upgrades to equipment building facilities
  • Coordinate the plan and schedule for maintenance shutdown work
  • Supporting operations and work with skilled trades to fix equipment failure and develop repair scopes of work
  • Build and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business
Qualifications
  • Working towards an Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Comfortable working in a multi‑faceted industrial work environment with a range of engineering, technical and operational personnel
  • Motivated self‑starter with the ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and a solid understanding of AutoCAD and SolidWorks would be advantageous

Pay Range: CAD $4,800 - 6,100 per month

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
