Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrician’s role is to provide preventative maintenance and troubleshooting services for the plant and plant equipment.

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

  • Design and install control circuits, troubleshoot and repair various machines such as Printing Presses, Laminators, Extruders, Slitting Machines, Bag Machines, and Gas Fired Web Dryers.
  • Perform maintenance on the buildings and facilities, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Provides on-call duties when necessary.
  • Embrace continuous improvement activities and maintain an open dialogue with the production departments to identify concerns and opportunities for improvement.
  • Deliver information to managers, supervisors, and team leaders in a constructive manner.
  • Adhere to company policies, including Health and Safety, and contribute to a Respectful Workplace.
Qualifications

When your expertise drives us:

  • Interprovincial Red Seal Certification as an Electrician.
  • Journeyman level. Knowledge of PLC software (i.e., Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB) Able to design electrical systems and repair electrical equipment.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment at a Journeyman level.
  • Valid Operators Certificate for Forklift, Scissor lift & Genie Boom. (Will train)
  • Computer Literate (Microsoft Office).
  • Plastics Industry Experience. (Considered a strong asset).
  • Fall Protection and Confined Space Course. (Will train)
  • HVAC experience.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Self-motivated and works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to speak, read and write effectively in English.
  • Organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to work 8-hour rotating shifts Monday - Friday (days & afternoons).
  • Bonafide physical requirements to carry out the duties of the role include; standing, walking, climbing, lifting and carrying up to 35lbs.
