Key Accountabilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Preform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment safely while abiding by all policies & procedures
  • Follow company policies (performance, safety, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
  • Perform administrative tasks including completing permits, parts ordering, and work order completion.
  • Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Alberta Journeyman Electrician Certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal Certification
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which include lifting up to 50lbs, climb ladders, and kneeling.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical and control systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and P&IDs
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley hardware: Drives, PLCs, HMIs
  • Solid understanding of industrial control systems and automation principles.
  • Must have own transportation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a plant or production environment (manufacturing, processing or similar)
  • Basic commercial construction experience (conduit installation, panel wiring, lighting)
  • Familiarity with networking basics (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong communication skills for reporting and collaboration
  • Ability to work different shifts and overtime if required.
