A global automotive parts manufacturer seeking an motivated Maintenance Assistant Manager to join their team. This position oversees the maintenance team responsible for both preventative maintenance and timely response to equipment breakdowns, with a primary focus on injection molding machines. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who can coach skilled trades staff, drive performance, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Maintenance Assistant Manager Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a multi‑disciplinary maintenance team of millwrights, mold makers, and electricians.
  • Oversee daily maintenance operations to ensure minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage preventative maintenance programs for production and facility equipment.
  • Coordinate troubleshooting and repairs during unplanned equipment failures, ensuring quick and effective resolutions.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, process efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Promote and enforce safety standards and regulatory compliance across all maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support new equipment installations and process improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned
Maintenance Assistant Manager Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive or injection molding.
  • 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing skilled trades teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and preventative maintenance programs preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
