Dexterra Group in Moosonee, Ontario, seeks a Utility Janitor for a remote camp role with a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation. You will maintain cleanliness, assist with maintenance tasks, manage laundry, and support the Lodge Manager.

The role requires C license or willingness to obtain, ability to use light power tools, and strong communication. Camp experience is a plus; health and safety are prioritized.

Competenze

• Valid C license required or willing to obtain C Class.
• Experience using light power tools.
• Experience working in busy environments.
• Ability to work independently and stay on task.
• Hotel or camp experience is an asset.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs.

Mansioni

• Assist Maintenance Lead in day-to-day tasks.
• Clean and sanitize all common areas (gym, rec room, boot room, front lobby).
• Snow removal.
• Garbage and recycling collection and removal.
• Floor care (sweeping/mopping).
• Clean and sanitize all public washrooms.
• Clean and sanitize management offices and front desk area.
• Move and dispose dorm garbage daily.
• Manage laundry in camp.
• Planned utility checks on assets.
• Troubleshoot issues (toilets, faucets, cosmetic equipment).
• Replace doorknobs, lightbulbs, other items as required.
• Cut keys and test keys in all doors.
• Hanging/removing items from walls.
• Inspect/replace filters as required.
• Transport staff.
• Shuttle Bus Driver - C License Required.
• Assist with maintenance tasks as directed by Lodge Manager.

Job Description

WHAT'S THE JOB?

Utility Janitor in the remote camp industry working 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off in Moosonee, Ontario. Transportation to and from site provided from designated locations.
Utility Janitors are a vital asset to our team and play an integral role in ensuring the cleanliness and organization of site. Utility Janitors work with the Lodge Manager and Maintenance Lead to follow the company standards for safety, quality, and site cleanliness.

• Assist Maintenance Lead in day to day tasks
• Clean and sanitize all common areas, including the gym, rec room, boot room and frontlobby
• Snow Removal
• Garbage and recycling collection and removal
• Floor care, including sweeping and mopping
• Clean and sanitize all public washrooms
• Clean and sanitize management offices as well as the front desk area
• Removing garbage from dorms and disposing at designated garbage site daily
• Collection, distribution, and management of laundry in camp
• Planned utility checks on assets in camp
• Troubleshooting utility issues as they arise (plugged toilets, leaky faucets, broken or damaged cosmetic equipment)
• Replacing doorknobs, lightbulbs, and other items as required
• Cutting keys and testing keys in all doors as required
• Hanging or removing items from walls
• Inspecting, cleaning, and replacing filters as required
• Transportation of staff
• Shuttle Bus Driver - C License Required
• Assisting with all maintenance tasks as directed by supervisor
• Other duties as assigned by Lodge Manager

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Valid Clicense required - or G license willing to get C Class
• Experience using light power tools required
• Experience working in busy environments
• Ability to work independently and remain on task
• Previous hotel or camp experience an asset
• Good oral and written communication skills.
