Overview

Job Type: Regular

Agropur is looking for a Maintenance and Reliability Engineer to join is Don Mills team.

In collaboration with the management team, the Maintenance and Reliability Engineer ensures the site's progress in Maintenance & Reliability. He focuses on improving equipment reliability by analyzing equipment failures and site practices. He is responsible for assessing the quality, robustness and capability of asset reliability processes. Provides support and advice on production equipment modifications. Reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) for equipment reliability, availability and robustness. He analyzes reliability problems and conducts investigations to determine the approach to reliability required in a given situation, taking into account cost limits for equipment uptime and downtime, repair and replacement costs, and availability of materials and equipment. His main role is to participate in the evolution of the site's Proactive Maintenance maturity. He is also responsible for helping to ensure a safe working environment and supporting the maintenance of quality and food safety requirements.

What’s involved in this role

More specifically, the responsibilities of the Maintenance and Reliability Engineer will be:

  • Leads and manages, in collaboration with all colleagues in their area, the failure analysis program for equipment issues.
  • Collaborates to monitor and improve MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and production equipment.
  • Ensures the progress of the asset health management program and the implementation of appropriate maintenance strategies.
  • Helps define PdM (Predictive Maintenance) and CBM (Condition-Based Maintenance) technologies deployed on critical equipment to detect failures at an early stage and provides related training.
  • Responsible for changes made to equipment maintenance plans based on asset failure data analysis.
  • Contributes to defining the training needs of maintenance personnel as part of the key skills management and improvement program.
  • Collaborates with continuous improvement triads (AOS) regarding reliability issues.
  • Facilitates collaboration with engineers to support reliability in equipment design.
  • Assists employees and engineers in analyzing the reliability of proposed equipment modifications.
  • Responsible for reviewing purchase specifications for new equipment in terms of reliability and maintainability.
  • Makes specific recommendations to improve machine performance and reliability based on process and failure data analysis.
  • Performs statistical analyses on machine failure data and work order closure codes.
  • Provides technical support to maintenance supervisors, planners, and maintenance employees in the form of specific technical data on system configuration and performance.
What You Need to Join Our Team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience in reliability, preferably in the food industry.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment (an asset).
  • Technical and practical knowledge of manufacturing production equipment.
  • Knowledge of best practices in maintenance reliability.
  • Familiarity with a CMMS software and MS Office.
  • Possession of a certification such as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP), CRL, MMP, AM, or equivalent (an asset).
