Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our team in Prince George, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment including excavator, shear, and baler, as well as handling materials, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring machinery is properly maintained and recorded. This is a hands‑on role that requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and teamwork in a busy yard environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment including the excavator, shear, and baler safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload trucks with various metal materials.
  • Handle and organize incoming and outgoing recyclable materials.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
  • Maintain accurate logs and daily records of machine operation and maintenance activities.
  • Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Support yard operations and assist other team members as required.
Requirements
  • Previous experience operating heavy machinery such as excavator, shear, or baler in a recycling, construction, or industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to complete and maintain accurate operational records.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in outdoor and physically demanding conditions.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly Rate: $28.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Opportunity for Overtime: Saturdays available as needed
