Job Title-Converting Machine Operator
Location-Etobicoke, ON
Are you mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and experienced in a manufacturing environment? We’re hiring a Converting Machine Operator to join our production team. In this hands‑on role, you’ll be responsible for running converting machinery, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high‑quality output.
Set up, operate, and monitor converting machines during production runs
Setting up and operating Slitter, laminating and converting bag machines.
Adjust and monitor machine settings such as heat, speed, and tension for optimal performance
Operators load converting machines with roll stock of film (plastic). The operator sets up the machines to the customer's specification and the converting bag machine forms the bag.
Perform in‑process and final quality inspections to ensure product accuracy
Maintain accurate records of materials, production, and quality checks
Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
Follow all company safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
Assist in training machine assistants and new operators
Collaborate with supervisors, maintenance, and quality control teams
Perform other production‑related tasks as needed
Minimum 2-year product (plastics) or industry specific (converting) machine experience is highly preferred
Minimum 2-year manufacturing experience is required
Experience working with plastic or film materials is a plus
Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow detailed work instructions
Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and good problem‑solving skills
Dependable, proactive, and able to work independently or with a team
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Willingness to learn and grow within a fast‑paced environment
Manufacturing floor environment with noise, dust, and temperature variations
Requires working with industrial equipment and wearing PPE (steel‑toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection)
May require machine certification depending on equipment used
