Job summary

Permacon is seeking a Machine Operator for the Metcalfe plant, with rotating day/night shifts and weekend coverage. You will operate the Rekers machine on the dry side, run strapping and wrapping, and support setup changes to keep production flowing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience operating equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems is an asset.
• Ability to work in shifts and meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate Rekers machine (dry side) and ensure its good functioning.
• Operate the strapping and wrapping machines and ensure its good functioning.
• Operate all the equipment related to the machine.
• Follow quality manual; complete quality and production reports; monitor curing of products.
• Perform set-up changes and adjustments for start-up.
• Program equipment and save product recipes to optimize changeovers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and participate in upkeep and housekeeping.
