Cardinal Health-Gananoque is looking for positive and team-oriented individuals to join our Gananoque manufacturing center as Machine Operator II, to support the production department.

Join our ECG team to make an impact by operating the disposable electrode machines, under the supervision of the Lead Hands and Production Supervisor.

Hours: Shifts will run on a 2-week basis from 7am to 7pm for days, then from 7pm to 7am for the night shift.

Location: Gananoque, Ont.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operation of electrode machines to produce disposable electrodes, including setting up the machine with proper materials, monitoring production runs, and making necessary adjustments.
  • Ensuring quality of electrodes during production and maintaining acceptable scrap levels by monitoring production based on feedback, making necessary adjustments, and performing random sampling and testing to control quality levels.
  • Performing repairs and adjustments within operators' capabilities, including changing small moving parts and reporting major problems to the supervisor.
  • Assigning and maintaining batch codes by recording and verifying batch codes from each raw material and completing and maintaining accuracy of documentation.
  • Testing new material or assisting in developing new products under supervisor or engineering supervision, including setting up for different materials and monitoring and reporting results.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the machine and work areas, including ensuring the machine is maintained in good operating condition and following the 5S standards to improve overall efficiency of operations.
Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive mechanical knowledge of equipment.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Machine maintenance skills, high mechanical aptitude, and problem-solving ability.
  • Detail-oriented with pride in producing work with high accuracy while achieving standard goals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • Comfortable with lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • General knowledge of production practices.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment.
  • Appreciation for working in a team environment where clear communication and quality control are crucial.
