Job summary

Zurn Elkay Water Solutions Corporation is seeking a Machine Operator II to contribute to daily production targets in a safe, team-based environment. The role involves operating break press and notch equipment, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality while adhering to EH&S guidelines.

You will work across presses, assembly, and cut-to-length tasks, support cross-training, and become proficient in multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Requires 2-3 years of manufacturing experience and a high school diploma.
• Able to read standard work instructions and follow safety procedures.
• Willing to work flexible hours including weekends.
• Must be physically capable of lifting 5-20 lbs and standing for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily productivity targets with supervision.
• Operate break press and notch machines per safe procedures.
• Set up and adjust machines according to specifications.
• Read blueprints and diagrams to position machinery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works with Supervisor and Lead Hand to ensure that daily productivity targets are met in a timely and safe manner.
• Demonstrate positive and safe workplace behavior at all times and work as a team in the achievement of daily production targets.
• Completes a variety of tasks within a department (Press Shop, Assembly line, Cut to length and Shear)
• Sets up and operates break press and/ Or notching machines, in accordance with established safe procedures.
• Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion
• Comply with company's EHS guidelines and ensure all required PPE are used while working on the manufacturing shop floor
• Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery.
• Focuses on learning additional tasks and ensuring quality at all times.
• Perform repetitive tasks and handle material up to 5-20 Lbs. for 10-hour shift.
• Contributes to the overall functioning of the team by maintaining awareness of best practices/emerging issues, both internally and externally, sharing best practices and building effective working relationships across the team and company.
• Strong desire to train in any/all departments.
• Performs other duties as necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 2-3 years of manufacturing experience in the field or in a related area
• Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
• Able to demonstrate good understanding on Standard Work Instruction for all tasks expected to perform
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
• Must be flexible to work extra hours during weekdays and weekends
• Demonstrates some leadership skills through informal coaching and teaching others
• Ability, willing, and motivated to lead and mentor co-workers in the future
