What You’ll Do

Barbwire Operator is a production worker within our steel manufacturing facility who has an important role in producing high quality wire products . The role reports to the Department Production Managers or designate and requires membership in the Teamsters Union, Local 213.

Examples of Duties
  • Set‑up the barb wire machines according to specifications which includes making adjustments to the spacing between barbs, the number of barbs, the length of wire required for each reel, various gauges and coatings.
  • Make all necessary adjustments to ensure quality and productivity.
  • Identify and rectify any machine problems.
  • Responsible for providing verification of the quality of the product being produced and the accurate recording of production.
  • Move finished product to the designated areas as required.
  • Perform other duties as required

Compensation & Shift Rotation

The position rate of pay is up to $32.04/hr including base pay ($31.34/hr), afternoon shift premium ($0.65/hr), night shift premium ($0.70/hr) where applicable.

Hours of Work

Week 1 & 2: Day Shift – Monday to Friday, 6:00AM -2:30PM

Week 3 & 4: Night Shift – Monday to Friday, 2:30PM-10:30PM

Week 5 & 6: Afternoon Shift – Monday to Friday, 10:30pm – 6:00AM
