Job summary

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring a Utility Operator for a temporary assignment in Southwest Ontario. The role involves 12-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday when on project, with $30.00 per hour before overtime, $30 per day meal allowance (when lodging is required), travel paid up to 4 hours, and hotel accommodations provided when required.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of manufacturing experience as a utility operator.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Experience with production equipment and lift trucks is an asset.
  • Follow production specs and SOPs.
  • Able to stand for extended periods.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Safely handle raw materials and finished products.
  • Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

  • Perform batch oven curing, re-humidification and scalping of grain as directed by supervision.
  • Set up and adjust equipment for production of a standard product.
  • Inspect materials during production for defects and report deviations.
  • Transport raw materials and supplies using lift trucks.
  • Clean and organize the making department and storage areas.
  • Oil and grease equipment in the making department.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform clerical work.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Obey fire and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job description

AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring Utility operator for an upcoming temporary assignment in Southwest Ontario.

This position will require you to work 12-hour shifts, Monday to Thursday when assigned to a project.

You will earn:
  • $30.00 per hour before overtime
  • $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
  • Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)
  • Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform batch oven curing, re-humidification and scalping of grain as directed by supervision.
  • Set up and adjust equipment for the production of a standard product.
  • Inspects materials during production for visible defects and promptly reports any deviations or unusual conditions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Transport raw materials and supplies to supply makers and transport finished products to proper areas using lift trucks.
  • Clean and organize the making department and all storage areas.
  • Clean, oil and grease equipment used in the making department.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform necessary clerical work.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Obey all existing fire and safety regulations.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by supervision.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment as a utility operator.
  • Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Experience in operating production equipment and lift trucks is an asset
  • Ability to follow production specifications and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe work environment and report obvious product defects.
  • Ability to safely handle raw materials, supplies and finished products
  • Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
