Job description
Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for the set-up, operation, and shutdown of the ISO production line. Operators are also responsible for the operation of the automated pallet production equipment when the ISO line is not running.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to operate machinery, resolve line stoppages, clear equipment jams, ensure the quality of the finished product, and prepare the product for shipment.
  • Complete health and safety pre-start checklists.
  • Document quality checks at regular intervals.
  • Document production numbers, and events contributing to downtime.
  • Operate a forklift in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Maintain 5S program in their work area – general housekeeping and cleaning as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Previous Manufacturing industry experience is an asset
  • Forklift Operator License is an asset
  • Mechanical aptitude with willingness to learn and be trained in new mechanical processes
  • Proven ability to take initiative and direction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic understanding and use of computer systems
  • Ability to work as a team in a fast paced, hot environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Reliable, good work ethic, and positive attitude

Hours of Work

40 Hour Work Week, 7am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday.
