Job summary

HelloFresh Abbotsford is seeking a Machine Operator to join our Production and Maintenance Team. The role involves operating equipment, performing automation and preventative maintenance, and minimizing downtime while supporting routine production activities.

You will help ensure efficiencies, supervise helpers, and collaborate with Food Safety and Sanitation teams to maintain regulatory standards and high product quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience operating machinery in a food processing, manufacturing or service industry.
• Post-secondary Education in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering Diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience preferred.
• Able to stand for prolonged periods, including regular bending, twisting and walking.
• Willing and able to work in a refrigerated environment (0°C to 4°C).
• Willing and able to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, looking consistently for potential food safety or quality deviations
• Ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written
• Minimum requirement of basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to grind, extract, mix, blend, dry, freeze, cook or process food or beverage products.
• Assist and guide a team of helpers to ensure production runs are on time, in full, and meet quality standards.
• Work with Food Safety and Sanitation teams to ensure automated equipment meets regulatory standards.
• Perform pre- and post-inspection of packaging equipment and calibrate machines.
• Complete required documentation and run production reports.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment to minimize downtime.
• Adhere to GMP, Health and Safety, and HelloFresh policies for a safe workplace and product quality
• Report hazards and use PPE as directed
• All other duties as assigned

Job description

Location: 3331 Mount Lehman Rd, Abbotsford, V2T 5M1

Shift: Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm (schedule may vary as per business needs)

About The Role

As a Machine Operator, you will work within our Production and Maintenance Team to operate equipment, perform the automation and preventative maintenance programs at our facilities, and work to ensure operation downtime is kept to a minimum along with routine production activities.

What You Will Be Doing

• Ensure all required efficiencies are achieved and maintained.
• Assist and give guidance to a team of helpers to ensure production runs are being completed on time, in full, while ensuring quality standards are being met.
• Work with our Food Safety and Sanitation teams to ensure all automated equipment is meeting regulatory standards.
• Operate machines to grind, extract, mix, blend, dry, freeze, cook or otherwise process food or beverage products.
• Perform pre and post-inspection of packaging equipment using the appropriate job plans, procedures, and manuals, in addition to machine calibration.
• Accurately set up equipment and ensure proper and safe operation.
• Complete required documentation and run production reports.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures to ensure Production downtime is kept to a minimum.
• Continuously monitor and adjust the process based on upstream and downstream production needs.
• Responsible for adhering to Food Safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Health and Safety, and HelloFresh policies and best practices to ensure a safe workplace and the highest possible product quality for our customers
• Use personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer.
• All Other duties as assigned.

At a Minimum, You Have
