Kent Building Supplies is seeking a Yard Associate to assist customers in selecting and loading lumber and building materials in our outdoor yard. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and strong service as you help customers locate items and manage yard displays.

The position offers a part-time schedule with potential for more hours, and starting wage of $16.15 per hour, with opportunities to grow within a leading Atlantic Canada building supply chain.

Qualifications

• Safety mindset and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Flexible shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Experience in a lumber yard or retail environment is an asset.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
• Bilingual French/English is an asset.
• Must be 21+ for forklift operation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety standards are met at all times.
• Greet and assist customers with locating, picking, and loading lumber and building materials.
• Organize and maintain yard displays, including signage and pricing.
• Load, unload, replenish, and restock inventory in the yard.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (training provided).
• Complete paperwork for orders, returns, and damaged goods.
• Stay informed about new products and promotions.
