You will lead a lean team of AI researchers and applied scientists, balance long-range exploration with near-term business needs, and partner with AI Platform and Data teams to productionize solutions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of AI/ML experience with emphasis on research and innovation.
• PhD preferred in Computer Science, ML, AI, or related field with strong publication record.
• Proven experience leading technical research teams in industry or academia.

The team leads the design and delivery of a trusted unified data foundation, AI-driven data analytics and insights, and AI solutions across lululemon's vertically integrated retail ecosystem, while embedding strong data governance and responsible AI practices from the very beginning. By applying AI to critical business challenges and creating new, transformative AI solutions, the team helps reshape how lululemon operates. Through deep partnership with product, technology, and business teams, Enterprise Data & AI accelerates product innovation, unlocks measurable value, elevates guest and educator experiences, and drives enterprise efficiency.

Core responsibilities

As a Senior Director, AI/ML Research and Science, you are accountable for advancing lululemon's AI capabilities through the research, development, and delivery of innovative AI models and solutions that drive measurable business impact. This ole requires innovation at the intersection of solving complex business problems and extending the state-of-the-art to achieve high-performing AI solutions that transform the business.

Reporting to senior technology leadership, you will lead a lean, highly specialized team of AI research and applied scientists focused on pushing the boundaries of applied AI, balancing forward-looking exploration (3-5 years out) with near-term business aspect.

This role serves as a critical bridge between state-of-the-art AI research and enterprise business problems, translating evolving business needs into novel solutions and shaping the enterprise AI research roadmap in partnership with business stakeholders.

Qualifications

compensation and benefits package

lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and teamperformance. Thetypical hiring range for this position is from $223,500 - $293,350 annually ; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and equity offerings, subject to program eligibility requirements.
