Wage: $20 per hour + $0.50 per hour weekend premium

Shifts: Thursday to Sunday, 7:00am to 5:30pm

Summary

Under close supervision, the Lube Tech (Technician I) performs minor routine maintenance and repair services on different types of vehicles. Works with the assistance of a T2, T3, T4, TIC SS or SM when performing technical and diagnostic type repairs. Task assignments are directed by shop management to encourage development in a productive manner.

Essential Functions
  • Performs basic vehicle maintenance. Performs component identification and minor repairs. Performs preventive maintenance with training and support. Diagnoses minor mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable. Identifies root cause of "minor" failures/conditions and performs repairs as required
  • Performs facility maintenance duties
  • Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
  • Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
  • Works in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT)

Requirements
  • A Valid Canadian Driver's license required (Class G2 or above)
  • Ability to read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated
  • Must be able to work shift work and weekends as required
  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and perform all entry level tasks
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply knowledge of computers (intermediate required)
Qualifications
  • H.S. diploma/GED preferred
  • Basic tools, required
  • One (1) year or more experience in transportation maintenance, preferred
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply knowledge of computers, intermediate required
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred

Compensation Information
