Job summary

Bayshore HealthCare is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our home care team in Gander, NL. You will provide compassionate nursing care in clients’ homes, focusing on safety, comfort, and quality outcomes.

The role involves delivering pediatric and community nursing support with flexible days, evenings, and weekend options to suit patient needs. Qualifications include graduating from an accredited nursing program, active LPN registration, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current LPN registration in good standing with the applicable provincial licensing body.
• Valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 patient care in clients' homes or in local hospital settings as needed.
• Administer and record prescribed medications per policy and scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of care plans and assessments.
• Coordinate with families and care teams to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications - External

This role requires you to have Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing and hold current active registration with the provincial licensing body. The position also requires you to have a solid knowledge and experience of the principles, practices and methods of Pediatrics and Community nursing.

• Assists with client care as directed by the developed care plans.
• Administers and records prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practice.
• Maintains the standards of accurate and complete documentation and reporting.

Details of: Nursing care is to be provided in central Newfoundland in client’s home and / or in local hospital when needed. Rotational shifts of Days, Nights, Weekends, Holidays and potential for On-Call requirements.

Requirements:

• Valid Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Applicable Medical Immunizations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Excellent command of the English language (spoken and written), French language proficiency considered an asset
