Job description

Title: Low-Rise New Construction Estimator

Location: Greater Toronto Area

Company: Triumph Group of Companies

Role Overview

The Low-Rise New Construction Estimator prepares estimates for new low-rise construction projects, working from drawings, specifications, and tender documents to build accurate, competitive pricing. You’ll consult directly with architects on components and design features, and work with clients to quote projects and guide product selection. Day to day, that means running material take offs, preparing cost forecasts, and following up on submitted tenders to track how they land. You’ll also support the Project Manager with whatever a project needs to keep things moving. You’ll know things are going well when your estimates hold up through the life of a project and clients keep coming back for the next one.

What We Offer
  • Salary: $50,000 to $70,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
  • Full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area
  • Comprehensive health and dental coverage
  • Paid vacation and 3 paid sick days
  • A newly created position with the chance to shape how it grows
  • Direct exposure to architects, clients, and senior project management
  • Room to grow within Triumph's low-rise construction division
  • A team that values accuracy, follow-through, and strong client relationships
What You Bring to the Table
Technical Skills
  • 3 to 5 years of estimating experience in low-rise or residential new construction
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and tender documents
  • Proficiency with estimating and take off software (such as Bluebeam or PlanSwift) along with MS Excel
  • Solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and costs for low-rise builds
  • Experience preparing price quotations and cost forecasts for active projects
Attributes
  • You’re detail-oriented and catch errors in drawings or take offs before they become costly problems
  • You communicate clearly with architects, clients, and project managers, and you follow through on what you say
  • You can juggle multiple estimates and deadlines at once without losing accuracy
  • You build genuine relationships with clients and understand that trust wins repeat business
  • You take initiative and pitch in wherever the Project Manager needs support
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Analyze construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation to prepare accurate estimates
  • Prepare price quotations and cost proposals from client drawings and scope documents
  • Establish material take offs for the full scope of work on each project
  • Provide pricing to customers and help select products that fit design requirements
  • Consult and collaborate with architects on components, materials, and design features
  • Prepare cost and expenditure statements and forecasts at regular intervals throughout each project
  • Conduct site visits as needed to verify scope, take measurements, and confirm conditions
  • Follow up on submitted tenders and track and record results
