Job summary

The Home Depot in Halifax is seeking a Lot Associate to load orders into customer vehicles and keep the parking lot safe and welcoming. You will often be the first and last associate a customer interacts with, providing helpful service and guidance.

Key responsibilities include assisting customers with loading, maintaining cart availability, and following safety procedures while working in a fast-paced retail environment with a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 1 to 2 years Retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Following Home Depot’s GET Model of customer service including Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking the customer.
• Maintain a sufficient quantity of carts near the entrance of the store.
• When required, ask open ended questions about the customer’s projects in order to determine their needs and level of expertise.
• Approach customers to determine if they need help loading product into vehicles and/or shopping carts.
• Plan the best method of loading and securing merchandise in customer’s vehicle as per Safe Loading Training.
• Ensure that all exits/loading areas are not blocked or cluttered; sweep and clean debris off front apron and lumber loading pad.
• Follows all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
• Using appropriate safety procedures with all equipment.

• Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.
