Job summary

The Home Depot in Winnipeg, MB is seeking a Lot Associate to support loading orders into customer vehicles and keep the parking lot safe and welcoming. You will be the first and last associate customers interact with, delivering friendly service.

Key duties include maintaining carts, asking open-ended questions to understand projects, helping customers load product, and following Safe Loading Training. You will also follow safety and loss-prevention policies and work in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and provide strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Load orders into customers' vehicles while ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Greet, engage, and thank customers as part of the GET Model.
• Maintain a sufficient quantity of carts near store entrance.

• Ensure exits/loading areas are clear and comply with safety policies.

Position Overview:

The Lot Associate’s primary responsibility is to load orders into customer vehicles and ensuring the parking lot is safe and welcoming for the customer. Customer service and GET behaviours play a vital role in this position, as the Lot Associate is often the first and last Associate to interact with a customer.

Key Responsibilities:
Ensures Customer Satisfaction

• Following Home Depot’s GET Model of customer service including Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking the customer.
• Maintain a sufficient quantity of carts near the entrance of the store.
• When required, ask open ended questions about the customer’s projects in order to determine their needs and level of expertise.
• Approach customers to determine if they need help loading product into vehicles and/or shopping carts.
• Plan the best method of loading and securing merchandise in customer’s vehicle as per Safe Loading Training.

Maintains Safety and Security

• Ensure that all exits/loading areas are not blocked or cluttered; sweep and clean debris off front apron and lumber loading pad.
• Follows all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
• Using appropriate safety procedures with all equipment.

• Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.
