Job description

The Loss Prevention Associate plays a key supportive role in providing frontline security and loss prevention expertise. Responsible for ensuring a safe retail environment for our employees, shoppers and guests at all NSLC locations. This support will be provided by identifying and minimizing incidents via risk mitigation strategies, collaboration with the Security Operations Center, and partnership with retail team members.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in criminal justice and protective security services (or related experience).
  • 3-5 years experience in the field of Loss Prevention, enforcement and/or corporate security.
  • Willing to work shift work during retail hours. Shifts Monday to Saturday with occasional Sunday; bi-weekly rotation of days and evenings.
  • Able to pass a security background check and a valid NS driver’s license; ability to produce a clear Driver’s Abstract and reliable transportation.
  • Training or certification in De-Escalation, defense tactics or related.
  • Experience in the field of law enforcement and/or retail risk management.
  • Experience in conducting or assisting in criminal, civil or compliance investigations.
  • Training, certification and/or experience in security hardware such as lock and cameras.
  • Alternate combination of education and experience may be considered equivalent.
