Chiropodist for a part-time position - Bloor West Foot Clinic

Part-time chiropodist wanted to join a growing practice in the vibrant Bloor West Village area. Our clinic specializes in Foot Mobilisation Technique (FMT), so applicants must be interested in learning manual therapies to incorporate into their practice. Beyond FMT, we also specialize in Nail Bracing, KeryFlex, and Onyfix.

Comprehensive training will be provided and is available for FMT; any experience in FMT or other manual therapies is an asset.

Main Provider Responsibilities:
  1. Perform clinical duties by assessing clients for foot health and illness; treating and preventing disease, dysfunctions or disorders of the lower limbs by therapeutic or palliative means; utilizing the full scope of practice as per the standards of practice through the College of Chiropodists of Ontario (e.g., prescription drugs, nail surgery, orthotics, etc.)
  2. Conduct biomechanical and structural assessments, treat acute and chronic infections and ulcers, and prescribe topical medications
  3. Perform nail surgery, including administration of a local anesthetic, independently
  4. Provide patient education on diseases and dysfunctions of the foot
  5. Maintain complete and accurate electronic medical records, using JANE EMR
  6. The position is initially part-time, with the potential to transition to full-time
Organizational Qualifications:
  1. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  2. Effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills, including computer literacy skills relevant to the job
  3. The position is open to chiropodists with a minimum of 3 years of experience
Job-Specific Qualifications:
  1. Excellent clinical skills in assessment, education, and treatment
  2. Extensive knowledge of and proficiency in the theory and practice of chiropody
  3. License with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario to practice local anesthesia
  4. Current General Certificate of registration with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario and liability insurance
  5. Interest in being in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
