Location: Winnipeg, MB R2P 2J7
Salary: $31.00 hourly / 35 to 50 hours per week
Employment: Permanent full time. Overtime, shifts, on call, flexible hours.
Responsibilities
- Address customers' complaints or concerns
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
- Load and unload goods
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Pay and receive payments for goods
- Perform brake adjustments
- Perform emergency roadside repairs
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Transport and handle dangerous goods
Qualifications
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience: Experience an asset
- Credentials: Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
- Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports, Inspection report (pre-trip, en‑route, post‑trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports
- Type of trucking and equipment: Refrigerated, Tractor‑trailer, Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
- Security and safety: Basic security clearance, Driving record check (abstract)
- Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence, Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel overnight
- Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding, Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- Personal suitability: Flexibility, Judgement, Organized, Reliability, Team player
