Job summary

A leading trucking company based in Canada is seeking a truck driver to join their team. Responsibilities include loading and unloading goods and performing inspections on vehicles. Applicants must have a valid Class 1 or A driver’s license and must be reliable and flexible. This is a permanent, full-time position with various shift types available. The ideal candidate will have international transportation experience and a strong team spirit.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Class 1 or A driver's license.
  • Experience with tractor-trailer type of trucking/equipment is beneficial.

Responsibilities
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • Load and unload goods
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
Credentials and Requirements
  • Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) of cargo permitted
