We are looking for a highly skilled Logistics Specialist to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods throughout our supply chain.

Objective & Purpose

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for directing and overseeing all inbound and outbound shipping activities across all modes—including Air, Ground, and Ocean—to support Greystone’s manufacturing and customer operations. This role manages carrier relationships, monitors shipments from origin to final delivery, ensures customs and regulatory compliance, and provides strategic guidance on documentation, packaging standards, and freight cost efficiency.
You will work closely with Customer Success, Purchasing, Operations, and Warehouse teams to maintain best practices, resolve issues, and continuously improve logistics processes.

Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Transportation

Direct and monitor all inbound and outbound shipments for domestic and international markets.

Serve as the primary point of accountability for shipping exceptions and issue resolution.

Support the creation and continuous improvement of routing guides and outbound packaging standards.

Ensure adherence to routing guides, packaging requirements, and on-time delivery metrics.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless operational handoffs.

Imports & Supply Chain Alignment

Oversee import shipments and ensure alignment with Purchasing and Supply Chain goals.

Monitor supplier deliveries, identify risks, and escalate as needed.

Recommend process improvements to reduce workload on Buyers and improve efficiency.

Freight & Cost Management

Audit and review all freight and logistics invoices with Finance to ensure accuracy and timely payment.

Support strategic initiatives related to carrier engagement, rate negotiations, RFQs/RFPs, and market reviews.

Manage freight claims for damaged or incorrectly billed shipments and follow through to resolution.

Customs & Regulatory Compliance

Maintain and update CUSMA, COO, and HS coding databases.

Provide guidance on customs procedures, international trade compliance, and regulatory changes.

Review commercial documentation and ensure country-specific compliance.

Maintain and support CTPAT certification and security compliance initiatives.

Documentation & Work Instructions

Lead the development and maintenance of shipping and commercial documentation procedures.

Support Customer Success and Shipping staff with international paperwork and clearance issues.

Conduct regular audits to ensure documentation accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics, shipping, and supply chain processes.

Support Lean, ISO, and sustainability initiatives related to logistics.

Lead root‑cause investigations and corrective actions for logistics‑related issues.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Training & Experience

Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) preferred.

5+ years of logistics coordination, import/export, and transportation management experience—manufacturing environment preferred.

Strong understanding of international trade compliance, customs procedures, commercial documentation, and carrier management.

Skills & Competencies

Proficiency with ERP and shipping systems; SYSPRO experience is an asset.

Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

High attention to detail with a proactive approach to issue identification and resolution.
