Job summary

Bombardier in Dorval, QC is seeking a Logistics and Transport Leader to oversee a ~25-person unionized team at the Completion Center. You will manage operations, drive production targets, budget, and quality, while coordinating with other departments and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Applicants should have 3–5 years in a supervisory role, strong planning, and leadership capabilities. Fluency in French is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to achieve objectives and results.
  • Demonstrated leadership when guiding and managing employees.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities to build relationships with staff, customers, management, and other departments.
  • Fluency in French is an asset; bilingualism is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee the activities and management of a team of approximately 25 unionized employees.
  • Be responsible for operational processes to achieve production targets.
  • Manage budgets and ensure product quality.
  • Resolve issues efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain communication with other departments about issues in your area.
  • Drive continuous improvement using PSS, Kaizen and Compass methodologies.
  • Ensure training and evaluate performance and development of your team.
  • Monitor compliance and maintenance for the fleet under the manager’s responsibility.
  • Promote PECVL standards on driving behavior and safety.
  • Maintain daily KPIs, PCS boards, and weekly Health & Safety reviews.
  • Encourage Health and Safety awareness and participate in LHSC.
  • Lead improvement projects and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Foster a respectful, positive workplace with unionized staff, customers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • De-escalate labor relations conflicts when necessary while remaining neutral.
  • Communicate with union representatives and Human Resources.
  • Demonstrate leadership in line with Bombardier’s values.
  • Coach your team to develop talent within the organization.

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Plan and oversee the activities and management of a team of approximately 25 unionized employees.

  • Drive continuous improvement by using Bombardier’s Achieving Excellence standards (Problem-Solving Process (PSS), Kaizen, Compass).
  • Ensure employee training and evaluate their performance and development.
  • Ensure the maintenance and monitoring of compliance for the fleet of heavy and light vehicles under the manager’s responsibility.
  • Promote adherence to PECVL standards regarding driving behavior, safety, vehicle inspections, and record keeping.
  • Maintain up-to-date daily KPIs, PCS boards, and weekly Health & Safety reviews (HSE walkthroughs).
  • Promote workplace Health and Safety and raise employee awareness of critical risks, while actively participating in the Local Health and Safety Committee (LHSC).
  • Encourage and initiate improvement projects and problem‑solving initiatives using deployed management tools (PSS, Kaizen, Compass).
  • Foster a respectful and positive work environment with unionized employees, internal and external customers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Be able to manage and de-escalate labor relations conflicts when necessary while maintaining a neutral and respectful workplace atmosphere.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with the union representatives and Human Resources.
  • Demonstrate leadership while upholding Bombardier’s vision and values.
  • Coach your team to develop talent within the organization.
How to thrive in this role?
  • You hold a degree in Operations Management, Production Management, Engineering, or a related field (aerospace experience is considered an asset).
  • You have three (3) to five (5) years of experience in a supervisory role within a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • You possess strong planning and organizational skills to ensure objectives and results are achieved.
  • You demonstrate management courage when leading and managing employees.
  • You have the interpersonal skills required to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, all levels of management, and other departments.
  • You thrive in a fast‑paced and continuously evolving environment.
  • You are proficient in French (bilingualism is considered an asset).
  • You are flexible and willing to work other shifts as required.
