Job description
Overview

You will be part of a member in the Adult Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology team.

You will be involved in general orthoptic examination and paediatric ophthalmology sessions. You will carry out paediatric visual acuity checks, sensory and motor evaluation of squints, refraction, amblyopia diagnosis, counselling and orthoptic treatment. There will be opportunities for active participation in teaching and research projects.

Responsibilities
  • Involve in Orthoptic Assessment and Reporting which includes formulation of diagnosis and proposed management plan where necessary to paediatric / general / private Ophthalmologists
  • Involve in Binocular Vision Assessment and Other Binocular Vision testing
  • Diagnosis, identify and support treatment in Amblyopia Clinic and Fusion and Accommodation Clinic including post service of managing patients and Counselling
  • Other Orthoptic specific assessments and Clinical Practice on prescription of Fresnel prisms
  • Opportunities to be involve in Orthoptic Education teaching and research projects
Job Requirements
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Sciences (Orthoptics)
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Able to communicate well with children of different age groups
