McGill University in Montreal's Downtown campus is seeking a skilled locksmith to install, repair, and service door hardware, cylinders, springs, and locks. The role requires interpreting plans and maintaining secure records of keys; driving a vehicle may be required.

You must be bonded with five years of related experience and hold a Locksmith Agent certification from Bureau de la sécurité privée, along with functional English and French.

Installs, repairs, replaces and services a variety of door hardware. Makes keys for various types of locks.Primary Responsibilities:Reads and interprets plans, drawings and specifications.Prepares and works on various materials. Submits to his immediate superior, for approval, requisitions for material and equipment.Installs, repairs, replaces and services locks and various security measures. Installs, verifies and services cylinders, etc.Installs, repairs and services springs, cylinders, hinges, etc. Repairs and services door-springs and, on occasion, will install these, etc.Makes keys for various types of locks and distributes them to users.As per procedure, keeps a record of keys in order to meet security measures.Operates and/or transports, regulates and adjusts machinery, tools and appropriate materials. Sees to their upkeep and to the upkeep of his area.On occasion, will drive a motorized vehicle.When need arises, informs his immediate superior of all abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures.Temporarily accomplishes, when required, the duties of a similar or inferior position.This list of above-mentioned duties is a summary of what is expected.
