Job summary

KLS Earthworks is seeking a Loader Dozer Operator to join our underground utilities team in Alberta. This role involves operating wheel loaders on underground utility and civil construction projects and supporting water, sanitary, and storm installations.

You will load, move, and stockpile materials, supply crews, and assist with site grading and cleanup while maintaining safety around open excavations and equipment. A valid Class 5 license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Previous loader operating experience is required, preferably in underground utilities or civil construction.
• Experience around water, sanitary, and storm utilities is a strong asset.
• Ability to safely operate in tight areas and around ground crews.
• Good understanding of equipment capabilities, site conditions, and safe operating practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with operators, pipelayers, laborers, and supervisors.
• Reliable, safety-focused, and willing to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Follow site-specific safety requirements, procedures, and direction from supervisors and foremen.
• Assist the crew with general site activities when required.
