Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking an excavator operator to support production activities at our Canadian site. The role requires careful handling of materials and adherence to safety protocols on a busy site.

You will perform routine equipment inspections, report issues promptly, and collaborate with a team to meet daily production targets in a secure, long-term employment environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating excavators in production or industrial settings.
  • Ability to perform basic equipment inspections and report issues promptly.
  • Strong safety mindset and adherence to site protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, adaptable, and able to meet daily operational demands.
  • Valid Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement.

What You'll Be Doing


  • Operate excavators safely and efficiently to support production and loading activities.

  • Perform routine equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs.

  • Handle materials to meet production targets while maintaining accuracy and care.

  • Support additional operational tasks to ensure smooth daily site operations.


What Are We Looking For


  • Proficient in operating excavators in a production or industrial environment.

  • Strong situational awareness and commitment to safe work practices.

  • Ability to perform basic equipment inspections and report issues promptly.

  • Comfortable working both independently and within a team environment.

  • Reliable, adaptable, and capable of meeting daily operational demands.

  • Valid Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement


Conditions of Employment


  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination and background check.

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to apply. Verification of age will be required as a condition of employment.


Work Environment


  • Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
