Job summary

A leading company based in downtown Edmonton is seeking an experienced Litigation Lawyer to handle a busy caseload. The role requires strong legal expertise, effective negotiation skills, and the ability to work closely with internal teams to achieve successful outcomes. Ideal candidates will possess a law degree, Alberta Law Society membership, and a proven track record in litigation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in broad-based litigation (5 years preferred).
  • Trial experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Managing up to 50 litigation files.
  • Providing regular status reports and legal opinions.
  • Conducting examinations, mediations, JDRs, and trials.

Job description

On behalf of our downtown client, we are looking for an experienced Litigation Lawyer to manage a busy caseload of files and work closely with internal teams to deliver strong legal results.

  • Managing up to 50 litigation files
  • Providing regular status reports & legal opinions
  • Conducting examinations, mediations, JDRs & trials
  • Adhering to department process and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Working as part of a team to effectively reduce loss costs
  • Ability to create and adopt innovative legal strategies to produce exceptional results
  • Strong negotiator and advocate with the ability to organize persuasive arguments in both judicial and commercial settings
  • Solid technical grounding in legal research demonstrating an attention to detail combined with superior evaluative and analytical abilities
  • A client focus with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with different departments and management levels across the organization
  • Solid technical and computer skills

Education :

  • Law degree from an accredited University or post-graduate program
  • Member in good standing of the Alberta Law Society
  • Minimum 3 years experience (5 years preferred) in broad-based litigation
  • Trial experience an asset
