Job summary

EStaffSearch is seeking a Litigation Law Clerk to join our client’s national Commercial Litigation and Construction Group in Toronto. You will support lawyers, prepare pleadings, manage documents, and help with discovery and hearings.

Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in a law firm, solid knowledge of civil procedure, and strong organization. You demonstrate independence, communication skills, and a team approach in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years’ experience in a law firm environment, preferably in litigation.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent ability to take direction and work independently.
• Highly organized with time management skills.
• A team player with a strong work ethic and a desire for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Play a critical role in assisting our lawyers with matters relating to all aspects of commercial and construction litigation.
• Participate in drafting pleadings, document production, and the discovery process.
• Preparing motion and application material, mediation briefs, pre-trial briefs and preparing for hearings and trials.
• Be responsible for matter management and data management, including scoping and budgeting.
• Collaborate and contribute as an important member of the team and provide unwavering commitment to excellent client service.
