Job summary

TD Insurance, part of TD Bank Group, invites applications for an Articling Student role in Toronto. Under supervision, you will assist our lawyers through the litigation process, including pleadings, discovery, research, and trial preparation.

You will support settlement conferences, document drafting, and coordination with Claims Representatives and insured clients, with emphasis on strong writing and courtroom communication skills.

Qualifications

• A law degree with LLB or J.D. from a recognized law school.
• Qualified to commence articling in August, 2027 for ten months.
• Knowledge of procedural and substantive law; insurance law asset.
• Strong oral communication skills; willingness to appear in court.
• Excellent writing; ability to draft memos, pleadings and opinions.

Responsibilities

• Support lawyers in discovery, prep pleadings and motions.
• Conduct legal research and prepare cases for trial or arbitration.
• Attend with lawyer and summarize discoveries; update electronic files.
• Assist in settlement conferences and court appearances as needed.
• Coordinate with claims representatives and insured clients.
