Job summary

Calgary Co-op is seeking a Liquor Store Supervisor to ensure excellent customer service in a safe, well-organized store. You will supervise clerks, handle inventory, pricing, and cash processes while maintaining compliance with policies and regulations.

Responsibilities include scheduling, coaching staff, and ensuring price integrity and product knowledge across wine, spirits, and related categories.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Grade 12 education or acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Previous liquor experience with strong product knowledge or equivalent supervisory experience.
• Basic receiving, ordering and merchandising skills.
• Related post-secondary education.
• Experience supervising others, planning, ordering, and organizing events, projects and programs.
• Six months of liquor retail experience with strong product knowledge and knowledge of provincial liquor regulations or equivalent retail experience.
• Kronos knowledge.
• Basic category analyzer knowledge.
• Passion and knowledge of wines, wine regions, and wine production.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations.
• Plans and performs all aspects of liquor functions including stocking and facing.
• Handles merchandise ensuring quality, minimizing damages and markdowns.
• Performs general clean up duties and maintains store neatness.
• Adheres to health, safety, and regulatory policies.
• Executes opening/closing duties including cash handling and reports.
• Conducts inventory and manages stock levels.
• Provides supervision/direction to Liquor Store staff.
• Develops and maintains schedules with management approval.
• Participates in interviews and budget information preparation.
