Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Bradford, Ontario is seeking a Laundry Aide to support residents by maintaining clothing and linen services, operating laundry equipment, and following infection control procedures.

You will work as part of a team, ensure inventory accuracy, keep a clean and safe laundry area, and participate in quality improvements; prior long-term care or retirement residence experience is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge related to infection control, cleaning practices, housekeeping operations and equipment.
• Ability to work independently or as a team.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and residents.
• Pass Vulnerable Sector Check (Ontario) and Criminal Records Check (British Columbia).

Responsibilities

• Provide clothing and linen support by coordinating collection, processing and inventory.
• Sort linens, operate washers and dryers, iron and mend as required.
• Fold and load linen and clothing for distribution; audit for labels and repairs.
• Discard and record inappropriate inventory.
• Maintain sanitation and infection control standards; keep area clean and organized.
• Observe machine operation and report malfunctions to the team leader.
• Assist in maintaining laundry facilities, equipment and supplies.
• Complete cleaning duties in the laundry area.
• Maintain a safe environment for residents following infection control principles.
• Support quality initiatives by offering feedback to the team leader.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
