Job summary

Geoterra is seeking a Field Technician to participate in field-based forestry activities including cruising, layout, silviculture, and ecosystem assessments. The role includes travel and occasional out-of-town assignments, with the potential to transition into office work.

The position offers exposure to a variety of field activities, a flexible schedule, and compensation of $20.00–$25.00 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• OFA Level 1 certification is required.
• Positive attitude, highly organized, eager to learn, and a team player.
• Basic outdoor skills and general fitness.
• Willingness to work in remote locations in adverse weather conditions.
• Willingness to work 8-12 hours/day (including overtime).
• Willing to work extended shifts and stay out-of-town for work, typically Monday-Friday from home.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with Line Locating.
• Assisting with timber cruising and timber investigations.
• Assist in cutblock, road layout and assessments.
• Assist with the riparian and ecosystem assessments.
• Data collection and entry.
• Additional adhoc assistance requirements needed by the supervisor.

Candidate Qualifications

• Valid BC driver’s license and wiling to provide a clean drivers abstract.
