Position Summary

Responsible for the preparation of quotes for customers and negotiations with vendors to reach competitive results that will promote product sales. Also responsible for sales and service to customers both in person and via telephone.

Responsibilities
  • Prepares takeoffs on fixture schedules for jobs. Research product information from competitors and negotiate with the vendors. Submits quotes to customers as requested. Creates submittal documents for the customer for projects awarded through the standard bid process. Make comparisons to past sales and competition to establish the gross profit percentage necessary to finalize the sale. Places orders when the jobs are released.
  • Checks status of orders and assures prompt delivery times. Works with branch manager and salesperson to follow up on every project that is quoted.
  • The position must keep current on new innovations to provide the customer base with the best product selection available. Attending manufacturer’s training seminars is a requirement for this position and should be expected as part of time management associated with this position.
  • Attends training sessions and department meetings as required.
Skills/Physical Demands/Additional Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Requires attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and strong math skills. Understands the concept of unit pricing.
  • Driver’s license that meets job requirements and a motor vehicle driving record that satisfies the requirements of our casualty and liability insurance program. For the state of KS Class-C, MO Class-E & OK Class-D.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and 25 pounds on a frequent basis.
