Job summary

A healthcare provider in the Niagara Region is seeking a Life Enrichment Aide for permanent part-time roles in Welland, Ontario. This role involves delivering Life Enrichment Services and facilitating recreation activities tailored to residents' interests. Ideal candidates will have a relevant diploma or degree, flexible and creative qualities, and experience in Long-Term Care is preferred. All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada, and comply with health regulations regarding COVID-19 vaccination.

Qualifications

  • Must have a post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in Geriatric rehabilitation or Long-Term Care preferred.
  • Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Life Enrichment Services to residents.
  • Implement and communicate recreation and social activities schedules.
  • Assist with a range of indoor and outdoor recreation activities.

Skills

Join our team as a Life Enrichment Aide!

Permanent Part-Time roles available

Under the direction of the Life Enrichment Coordinator, the Life Enrichment Aide will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of Life Enrichment Services, implement and communicate to all residents and families a schedule of recreation and social activities that are offered during days, evenings and weekends, provide and assist with recreation and social activities that include a range of indoor and outdoor recreation, leisure and outings that are of a frequency and type to benefit all residents of the home and reflect their interests, and provide opportunities for resident and family input into the development and scheduling of recreation and social activities.

Qualifications
  • Have a post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or other related field from a community college or university;
  • Are enrolled in a community college or university in a diploma or degree program in such a field as required under the Fixing Long Term Care Act, 2021, ss. 79 and Ontario Regulation ss. 73/22 (1)
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in Geriatric rehabilitation or Long-Term Care preferred
  • Must demonstrate an active interest in ongoing education
  • Must be flexible, innovative and creative
  • Must be computer literate
