Whitehorse Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (Medical-Surgical) for a term full-time position. New graduates are welcomed. The role reports to the Clinical Care Manager/Clinical Nurse Leader and works within a multidisciplinary team to deliver nursing care within scope.

Ideal candidates hold a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, are registered with YRNA, and maintain CPR certification. The position is Yukon-focused with incentives and a closing date noted.

Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (RN/LPN track) and current registration with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA).
CPR certification required.
Practicum in acute care or relevant specialties and First Nations/Inuit health focus desired.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Clinical Care Manager/Clinical Nurse Leader, and as a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Licensed Practical Nurse provides nursing care within their scope for the comfort of patients. Incumbents also perform treatments and procedures to aid in supportive and curative measures for patient care and participate in the development and implementation of nursing care plans.

Knowledge of established practices and procedures of professional nursing care;
Knowledge of trends and developments in the nursing field;
Ability to develop and implement nursing care plans;

The successful candidate is required to have a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, be currently registered with Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA) and have current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R) certification. Practicum placements during Degree program in areas related to acute care, any specialty service area (i.e. Maternity/ED), hospitals or health centers focusing on the health of First Nations, Inuit, Metis populations is desired.
